The next generation Photo Browser (at least in terms of Nokia) for S60 5th Edition gets a significant update with usability, quality and functional improvements

Nokia revealed the 5530 at a Nokia Connection event in Singapore today. This seems to be the device that was thought to be the rumoured 5900 – a step up from the current 5800. It seems instead we are getting a cheaper model with no 3G. The new device features a re-freshened home screen allowing you to have quick access to up to 20 contacts as well as four shortcuts for applications or websites. Also the Media Bar is still there. The home screen looks like something I’d like to see on the 5800 as well (maybe a new firmware is on the way?).
Other features include:

If you are feeling nostalgic and want to have a smile on your face then Nokia has something special for you. At Nokia’s Facebook gallery you can see a photo display of some classic Nokia phone models – starting from huge brick with a handle all the way up to the 5800.
Did you have one of these?
Sometimes you have to uninstall an application to make room for other stuff or maybe you just want to install the app on a different memory card – whatever the reason – it’s a common procedure. But what happens if you bought the app from Nokia’s Ovi Store? I would be reasonable to think that since you’ve already paid for the app you should be able to install it again by popping in to Ovi Store and hitting ‘Install’ on the applications page. That’s not quite how it worked out for me as I managed to mess up my Gravity installation (a beautiful piece of software btw.).
In the Ovi Store I was greeted by a Buy button – as if I had never bought it. It shows in the My Stuff page allright but still I was supposed to dish out another 10€ for an app that I had just bought a couple of days before. Luckily the makers of Gravity offer great support for their product and they helped me out – I’m back in the Twitter heaven (or hell).
Still it makes me wonder – is this the best that the Ovi Store can do? Let us know about your Ovi Store experience by leaving a comment.
