Nokia reveals the 5530 – a cheap successor for the 5800 Xpress Music
Nokia revealed the 5530 at a Nokia Connection event in Singapore today. This seems to be the device that was thought to be the rumoured 5900 – a step up from the current 5800. It seems instead we are getting a cheaper model with no 3G. The new device features a re-freshened home screen allowing you to have quick access to up to 20 contacts as well as four shortcuts for applications or websites. Also the Media Bar is still there. The home screen looks like something I’d like to see on the 5800 as well (maybe a new firmware is on the way?).
Other features include:
- 2,9″ touch screen with tactile feedback
- S60 5th Edition
- no physical keys
- a 3.2-megapixel camera and LED flash
- Bluetooth, WiFi, and EDGE
- a music player (obviously)
- widescreen video playback at 640×360
- hot-swappable MicroSD slot (4GB included)
- a standard 3.5mm audio plug
Check out the videos after the break.
