Checkers breaks through to 5000+ downloads – more donations received!
I am absolutely amazed over the popularity of the Checkers game. It recently reached and went beyond the 5000 download mark. Thanks to all visitors and users for the feedback and development ideas and an Extra Huge Thank You for the two new donations from Portugal and Germany – you guys know who you are!
I’ve received some propositions for the development of the game – one of which especially will blow your minds if it comes true. As always if you like the game keep the donations coming. I can’t promise a new free game in the immediate future but every little donation helps to keep this site running.

Good news, I love this game!!!
But it is kind of annoying when I want to turn off the vibration but no option to do so, and it is kind of slow…
But there are no better game than this checker, I play it every time after my work off at subway.!!!!
Thanks
Glad you like it. I will add the option for the vibration in the next version when I find the time to work on it. Not sure I can speed up the game though as it seems to have a lot to do with how the phone’s browser engine / firmware handles the click events and that’s something I can’t change. The slight delay before the click is registered makes the game feel slower than it actually is.
There maybe some other cool things under development for the Checkers game – keep checking the site for more info in the near future.
This was the first place where I got when googling for some checkers game for my N79. It works fine. It is a bit tricky to play without a touchscreen and it does not fit comopletely in the browser (50% is too small and 75% does not fit a bit), but anyway – really great and simple and does not need installing. You could adjust size a bit and create a fully N79 / N82 and other N-series compatible game
Thanks for such a simple and nice game. I have sight problems so for me such games with simple graphics and less text is the best choice.
I’m glad you like it
I’ve been thinking about making a version for smaller screen sizes but haven’t really had the time. Who knows – it may still happen…
thx
Great game, especially for free. Nice and simple but looks and feels like classic checkers.
Would be GREAT if you could go for a CHESS game next as there are none for free and it would be VERY popular. Will send a donation asap as soon as I find your account.
ps. Don’t forget to try Hex-a-Hop and Crimson Fields. Two WONDERFULL free games but you need to use V.3 crimson fields as v.5 does not work. Also switch off the sensor which is found in (settings/phone/sensor settings), otherwise the screen wont be right.
Thanx again, good luck!
You are right – a Chess widget would be cool! If I find a good (and free) javascript engine for Chess I will adapt it to S60 5th Edition with some nice graphics as soon as I can find the time. It probably won’t offer enough challenge for a chess guru but might be fun for others playing or practicing tactics. Stay tuned.
How do you pull off a double jump in this game?? I did it once, and now every time I try to do it, it never works. I tap my piece, tap the square after the first one, and then what?
Do the first jump and then the second. Do not click the your piece to select it as it’s already selected – just click the next available slot. If a second jump is possible it’s stated in the info line. Remember the pieces only move in on direction until you reach the opposite end for the first time – then it becomes a free agent.
thx
